If you are 16 years old and a learner driver – these new changes apply to you…
Did you know you can now sign your logbook when you are 16 years of age and over?
That’s right – the law changed on 14 September 2015 – allowing learner drivers to sign the Driving Experience Declaration in their logbook; and also to sign the declaration on the ‘Prior Driving Experience’ Application Form – from 16 years of age and over.
SEND YOUR LOGBOOK OFF EARLY
That means – when a learner driver has 100 or more driving hours recorded (including 10 hours of night driving) – they can complete the declaration at the back of their logbook and post it off to Queensland Transport for approval.
BOOK YOUR DRIVING TEST IN ADVANCE
Prior to the logbook being approved – you can book a driving test for the day you turn 17 or any time after that.
Please allow up to 6 weeks in advance for booking driving tests in Hervey Bay and Maryborough.
To be eligible to sit for a driving test in Queensland – you need to be 17 years or older; have held your Learner Licence for 12 months or more; and your logbook approved.
